Level 1 vs. Level 2 Charging

    Level 1 — 120 volts

Plugs into a standard outlet and adds roughly 3–5 miles of range per hour. Fine for plug-in hybrids or very short commutes, but slow for a full battery EV.

    Level 2 — 240 volts

Runs on a dedicated 240V circuit and typically fills your battery overnight. This is what most homeowners want, and what we install most often.

    Our Installation Steps

    1. 1

      Phone consultation

Tell us your vehicle, charger and where you park. We flag anything that could affect the install before we come out.

    2. 2

      On-site load calculation

We measure your existing service and panel capacity to confirm a 240V circuit can be added safely under continuous charging.

    3. 3

      Written scope and pricing

You get the circuit size, conduit route, charger location and total price in writing before any work begins — no surprises.

    4. 4

      Permit pulled

EV charger circuits require a village permit in most of Chicagoland. We file it and schedule the inspection for you.

    5. 5

      Installation day

Dedicated 240V circuit run, breaker installed and labeled, charger mounted where your cable actually reaches, conduit run clean.

    6. 6

      Testing, inspection and walkthrough

We test a live charging session, walk you through the unit and app, pass inspection, and back the work with our 1-year workmanship guarantee.

EV Charger Installation — Common Questions

What does ICC certification mean for me?

The Illinois Commerce Commission certifies electrical contractors approved to install EV charging equipment in Illinois. It means your installation is performed to the state's safety and compliance standards — which matters for inspections, insurance and any utility or rebate program that requires a certified installer.

Do I need a panel upgrade for a Level 2 charger?

Not always. It depends on your service size and existing load. We run a load calculation first — if your panel can't carry the charger, we can upgrade the panel or service ourselves.

How long does an installation take?

A straightforward Level 2 install is usually completed in a single day. Installs that need a panel upgrade or a long conduit run may take longer.

Can you install a charger I already bought?

Yes. We install customer-supplied chargers as well as units we source for you.

    Which areas do you serve?

Wood Dale, Bensenville, Addison, Elk Grove Village and the greater Chicagoland area.
